How It Works

The direct injection system in your vehicle starts with a low pressure fuel pump (LPFP) that feeds fuel to the HPFP at around 4 to 6 bar. This efficient delivery is critical, especially for modified engines where fuel demand spikes.

The Issue with Stock Pumps

Stock HPFPs can struggle to keep up, particularly with larger turbo setups and when running ethanol blends. The displacement of the pump, which is tied to its internal bore size and camshaft stroke, can limit fuel delivery, especially at lower RPMs when demand is high.
