A.R.E TRUCK ACCESSORIES HISTORY

A.R.E was created in 1969 and initially produced aluminum caps and storage structures. In 1979, A.R.E. began manufacturing commercial aluminum work caps with premium interior panels. Around 1982, the business produced its first fiberglass truck cover. Consequently, A.R.E transferred operations to its first large-scale production facility, a 36,000-square-foot facility in Mt. Eaton, Ohio. The business produced its first tonneau cover made of fiber glass. A.R.E was the first maker of fiber glass caps to offer an automotive paint finish as standard in 1990. The company began producing walk-in door units made of fiberglass. A.R.E commenced production in its state-of-the-art, 256,000-square-foot Massillon factory. The company's complete walk-in door won the renowned Ron Webster Award for Engineering Excellence. In 1997, country music legend Charlie Daniels became the national spokesperson for A.R.E. The tonneau cover lift assist system developed by A.R.E. earned the company its second Ron Webster Award for Engineering Excellence. At the 1999 SEMA exhibition, Chrysler presented A.R.E with a design excellence award. Three different truck tops manufactured by A.R.E. received best buy recognition from Consumers Digest. A.R.E was the first and still the only U.S. manufacturer of truck caps to obtain ISO certification. In 2003, A.R.E. became a sponsor of Ducks Unlimited. In 2007, A.R.E. collaborated with Toyota to advertise their new Tundra pickup and work truck solutions. In 2009, the company celebrated its 40th anniversary and received a 10/10 rating from the readers of Handyman Magazine, who evaluated the company's products as "contractor-approved." In 2012, A.R.E released the Overland series and X-series, and in 2015, it added the Diamond edition DCU to its lineup of commercial products.
