The COBB Tuning 7F1527-BK Front Mount Intercooler is engineered specifically for the 2021 and newer Ford F-150 EcoBoost models, including the Raptor, Tremor, and Limited variants with 2.7L and 3.5L engines. This intercooler is designed to enhance thermal efficiency and performance without compromising the vehicle's original design.
This intercooler features a meticulously designed core that utilizes computational fluid dynamics to optimize airflow. The end tank design minimizes turbulence, allowing for smoother flow transitions. The outlet port includes a large chamfer for an efficient connection to the throttle body, further reducing any potential turbulence in the intake system.
For those looking to integrate additional modifications such as water or methanol injection, the 7F1527-BK includes two flat sections on the casting. The top flat can be drilled and tapped for a nozzle, while the bottom flat serves as a convenient drain port.
The factory front mount intercooler on the Ford F-150 EcoBoost models is often inadequate, leading to heat soak and a subsequent drop in performance. Upgrading to the COBB 7F1527-BK intercooler is a practical solution to maintain optimal power levels and enhance overall engine performance during demanding driving conditions.
