The unique matrix of Darton s centrifugally cast nodular iron sleeves provides unexcelled surface toughness. Darton s unique casting process provides a bore finish which, while very tough, promotes quick and total piston ring seal for the most complete combustion possible from each cylinder. Darton pioneered modular sleeve designs and specialty ductile iron material beginning with their manufacture of top fuel sleeves in 1978.

Darton sleeves excel in the harsh environment of all-out racing. Their centrifugally cast nodular composition represents the highest quality of any cast material.

The Story of Darton Sleeves

Darton Sleeves was incorporated in 1978 with the goal of becoming a premier manufacturer of automotive speed parts. In pursuit of this objective, the founders established manufacturing relationships with several unique European factories that specialized in products and techniques that would appeal to Darton’s potential customers. Later in 1990, Darton became part of an international company based out of Portugal. That company was Pachancho, a 100-year-old manufacturing firm located in picturesque northern Portugal that leads a group of companies that specialize in automotive parts like cylinder sleeves, piston rings, iron castings, and specialty aluminum castings.

The Darton affiliate company is world-renowned and a major supplier to the automotive industry in Europe. All the material for Darton's cylinder sleeves is produced in the Portugal workshop, which is recognized worldwide for excellence in all forms of unique types of centrifugally cast ductile and grey iron. The focus of Darton International’s business, to this day, is the production and delivery of cylinder sleeves (also called cylinder liners).
