If you're diving into the world of performance engines, you’ve probably heard of Eagle Crankshafts. I’ve used their products myself, and let me tell you, the quality is impressive.

What sets Eagle apart is their forging process. They use a non-twist forging technique, which means you’re getting a crank that’s built to last. Each crank goes through a multi-stage heat treatment, stress relieving, shot peening, and nitriding. All of that adds up to a crank that can take the heat—literally. They even magnaflux and sonic test each one to ensure there are no hidden flaws. You can really feel the difference when you micropolish the journals to a 3 or better R.A. It’s all about that precision, you know?

Now, if you’re pushing your engine towards the 1500 HP mark, this is the crank you want. The forged 4340 steel gives it that extra strength and reliability, especially in demanding applications. The journals are designed with a .125" radius for added durability, but keep in mind that you’ll need to use chamfered bearings to make the most of that feature.

And for those looking to shave off a few pounds, check out the 'Lightweight' versions. The knife-edged counterweights reduce weight and windage, typically cutting down around 5-6 lbs. Every little bit helps when you’re chasing performance!

If you’re not quite at the 1500 HP level, Eagle also offers cast steel crankshafts. They’re a solid alternative to factory options, and with all radii set at .092", you can stick with O.E. style bearings. They’re rated for up to 500 HP, which is perfect for street builds or mild performance setups. Just remember, they’re designed for 28 in-oz. external balance.

They manufacture their rods using a 2-piece forging process that allows the rod to be stronger. This process orients the "grain" of the metal to the direction of the stress. Eagle uses a state-of-the-art Sunnen Krossgrinding system that allows them to create perfect cuts and bore consistently.
