With a friction coefficient of 0.55µ that holds steady up to a scorching 850°C, they’re ready to take on whatever you throw at them. One of the coolest things about the RP-X is how they perform straight out of the gate. You don’t have to waste time warming them up; they bite hard from cold. This makes them perfect for sprint races and hill climbs where every second counts. Just keep in mind, these pads are designed for the track, so they're not R90 homologated for street use in the EU. However, if local laws allow, you can definitely use them for your trips to and from the track.
Now, a heads up: with great performance comes some trade-offs. Expect more brake dust and noise compared to your typical street pads. They wear down your discs a bit faster too, but that’s the price you pay for that level of grip. When you stack them up against EBC’s RP-1 pads, the RP-X offers a 25% increase in friction across the board, which means you get a much more aggressive initial bite. This can be a game changer, especially for heavier cars or those that might not have the best brake servo assist.
For lighter vehicles or those not equipped with EBC’s Big Brake Kits, the RP-1 might still be the better option if you prefer a less intense feel. But if you want to maximize your braking performance, the RP-X is where it’s at.

This leads to brake vibration in the 3-5,000 miles lifetime period and is not a warrantable condition. The solution for vibration at this stage is to have the rotors turned or replaced and to thoroughly clean the mounting flange on the vehicle and carefully check for runout before returning the vehicle to service use.
