If you're looking to up your BMW N55 game, you might want to check out our Diverter Valve Charge Pipe. It’s a solid upgrade for anyone with a 135i or 335i. Now, I know what you might be thinking—why mess with the charge pipe? But trust me, the way air flows into your engine can change everything about how your car drives. We're talking better throttle response and less turbo lag, which means more power when you need it.
We crafted this charge pipe using lightweight 6061 aluminum with mandrel bends. What does that mean for you? Well, those smooth curves and minimal obstructions help the air flow freely, which is crucial. We went with 3-inch piping to match the factory throttle body, a step up from the stock 2.5 inches. This ensures you’re not choking your engine when it’s time to unleash the power.
One of the standout features is the throttle body connection. Evolution Racewerks was the first to replicate the factory throttle body flange on the N54 charge pipe, and we’ve done the same here for the N55. During our R&D phase, we scrutinized the throttle body connection. The factory diverter valve uses an o-ring sealed by a c-clip, which makes for a secure fit and easy removal when you need to get in there. We tested it under pressure, and it held up to 25 PSI without a hitch. We had to stop there because one of the intake pipes blew off, but we’re confident it could handle even more boost. If it’s good enough for BMW’s critical systems, it’s good enough for us.
Now, a lot of competitors out there use silicone hose connections for the throttle body, and honestly, it’s a bit of a hack. The throttle body lip is too short, and without proper beads, those hoses can blow off under pressure. We took the time to develop a proper connection that mirrors the factory setup, which is something you’ll appreciate when you’re pushing your car to its limits. And let’s not forget about the MAP sensor—it seals with an o-ring, just like the factory diverter valve pipe. A hole in a silicone hose? That’s just asking for a boost leak.
For those who are into methanol injection or nitrous, we’ve added a couple of 1/8" NPT threaded bungs on the charge pipe. This makes it super easy to install your injectors if you decide to go that route. Each bung comes with a plug, so you can run it with or without the methanol injector—perfect for those who are still planning their setup.

Notes:
In short, if you’re serious about squeezing every bit of performance out of your BMW N55, this charge pipe is a no-brainer. It’s built to last and designed for real-world performance—just like your ride.
