If you're looking to boost your MazdaSpeed's performance, the ETS top mount intercooler is a solid choice. I've been running one on my own ride, and I can tell you, it's a game changer. This intercooler isn’t just about looking good—it’s built to perform. The direct bolt-on design makes installation a breeze, using the factory mounting points. You won’t find yourself wrestling with complicated setups here.
What really stands out is the bar and plate core design. This isn't just some marketing gimmick; it genuinely enhances cooling efficiency. I’ve seen dyno results showing gains of around 20 horsepower and 20 lb-ft of torque on a stock setup, which is pretty impressive. Plus, it’s pressure checked at 35 psi, so you know it can handle the heat without cracking under pressure. And speaking of heat, the upgraded aluminum shroud that comes with it not only looks slick but also helps eliminate that bulky black shroud that the stock intercooler has.
One of the biggest issues with the factory intercooler is the bottleneck it creates. This ETS intercooler is designed to eliminate those restrictions, letting your engine breathe better and perform at its peak. With a flow rate of 1176 CFM, it’s capable of supporting up to 705 horsepower, although inlet and outlet restrictions might cap you closer to 600 hp in practical use. Just keep in mind, to hit those numbers, you'll need some speed—around 50 mph to really take advantage of the airflow through the scoop.
It’s compatible with the 2010-2013 MazdaSpeed 3, so if you’ve got one of those, you’re in luck. And with a one-year warranty against cracking, you can install it with confidence.
