The Extreme Turbo Systems 800-10-IC-16 is engineered for optimal performance in high-boost applications, specifically designed for the Mazda RX-7 from 1993 to 1995. This intercooler upgrade addresses common issues faced by enthusiasts running significant power upgrades.

Performance Insights

During extensive testing on our shop car, equipped with a T66 turbo and Haltech management, we identified critical temperature challenges with standard intercooler setups. Initially, using an Apexi FMIC kit, charge air temperatures reached alarming levels of 140-150°F, resulting in slight detonation under load, particularly in higher gears. With the ETS intercooler installed, charge air temperatures dropped dramatically to a consistent 110°F, peaking at only 122°F under peak conditions. This improvement has enabled stable operation at 23 psi with pump gas, eliminating detonation concerns.
