So, here’s the deal. ETS really put thought into this design. They weighed the pros and cons of going with a large horizontal flow intercooler, but ultimately, they figured out that a vertical flow setup was the way to go. Why? Well, with a horizontal intercooler, each bank of the engine would end up getting different temperatures. The bottom section would be cooler while the top, tucked behind the crash beam, would suffer from higher intake air temps. Not ideal if you want consistent performance.
The core size is impressive—22x14x4.5 inches—so you know it’s going to handle the heat like a champ. Plus, the full 3-inch stainless mandrel bent piping means you won’t have to worry about airflow restrictions. It’s all about efficiency here, and this kit delivers.
One of the standout features is how it’s bracketed around the oil cooler. This little detail helps prevent any potential leaks, which is something you definitely don’t want to deal with. And if you’re worried about fitment, rest easy. This kit clears the factory crash beam and bumper cover without a hitch. The “Super Race” version does require a bit of trimming on the crash beam, but it’s nothing too crazy.
Another thing I appreciate is the design’s clearance around the factory under tray and fender wells. If you’re going full lock on your steering, you’ll be glad to know it won’t interfere. And say goodbye to those long silicone couplers; this kit uses Breeze high-quality T-bolt clamps with a bridge, so you won’t have to worry about slippage.
It’s also compatible with your factory blow-off valve pipes or any aftermarket replacements you might want to throw in. So, whether you’re sticking with stock or going all out, this intercooler kit has got you covered.
