What sets our intercooler apart? Well, for starters, we use an offset and staggered internal and external fin pack. The external fins are densely packed to maximize heat transfer, while the internal fins are designed for optimal airflow. It’s all about striking that perfect balance, and trust me, we’ve nailed it for this application.
Sure, you might be tempted by those cheaper options, but let me tell you, they’re cheap for a reason. Many of those budget intercoolers come with a straight-through internal fin pack that works like a tunnel instead of a splitter. The result? Higher intake air temperatures that can lead to timing reductions, knocking, misfires, and even detonation. Not exactly what you want for your WRX, right?
- We strategically position the inlets and outlets right in the middle of the core. This setup promotes proper air distribution and flow, which is crucial for performance.
- Each inlet and outlet is hand ported to minimize turbulence and maximize flow. I’ve seen other manufacturers just weld on a tube without deburring the inside, which creates unnecessary turbulence and disrupts airflow. Not cool.
