Think of it this way: the external fins are tightly packed to maximize heat transfer, while the internal fins are spaced out to ensure smooth airflow. Now, I know it’s tempting to go for those cheaper alternatives floating around. But trust me, they’re cheap for a reason. Most of them use a straight-through internal fin pack that acts more like a tunnel than an efficient air splitter. The result? Higher intake air temperatures, which can lead to timing reductions, knock, misfires, and even detonation. Not exactly what you want when you’re pushing your car to its limits.
