If you're looking to boost your Evo 8 or 9's performance, the ETS Front Mount Intercooler is a solid upgrade. I've had my hands on one, and let me tell you, it really takes things up a notch. Not only does it give you some serious power gains, but it also gives your front end a meaner look with that full grill coverage.
One of the best parts? The bolt-on design makes installation a breeze. You can keep your crash beam intact with both the 3" and 3.5" versions, which is great for safety without sacrificing any performance. You won't need to spend hours in the garage trying to figure it out.
Now, let’s talk specs. This intercooler comes in a couple of core sizes: 24"x11.5"x3.0" and 24"x11.5"x3.5". The 3.0" core can handle up to 1092cfm and support around 742hp at 79% efficiency. If you want a little more muscle, the 3.5" core cranks that up to 1115cfm and 758hp at 80% efficiency. Both are direct replacements, so you can swap them out without any hassle.
But if you're really chasing that extra oomph, there's the 24"x11.5"x4.0" core, which pushes out 1207cfm and can support 820hp at 81% efficiency. Just a heads up, though: that one requires some bumper beam trimming. And for the true performance junkies, the 24"x11.5"x5.0" core offers a whopping 1368cfm and 930hp at 83% efficiency, although that one needs some custom intercooler piping and more trimming. If you're after the ultimate setup, the 24"x11.5"x6.0" core is the beast to beat, offering 1472cfm and 1000hp at 83% efficiency, but it does require removing the bumper beam and cutting into the bumper cover.
With the ETS Front Mount Intercooler, you can expect lower charge air temperatures and a noticeable boost in performance.
