I’ve had mine for a while now, and I can honestly say it’s been a fantastic addition to my setup. The direct bolt-on design makes installation a breeze—no need to mess around with custom brackets or anything like that. You just use the factory mounting points, which is a huge relief if you're not a fan of complicated installs.
Now, let’s talk about the core. It’s a bar and plate design, which means you’re getting top-notch cooling efficiency. I’ve noticed a significant drop in intake temperatures, which is crucial if you’re pushing your car hard. Plus, it’s pressure tested at 35 psi, so you know it can handle the heat without cracking under pressure. That’s peace of mind right there.
One of the standout features for me is the upgraded aluminum shroud that comes with it. It replaces the stock black shroud and not only looks better but also helps with airflow. The stock intercooler had some serious bottlenecks, but this one eliminates those restrictions, allowing for a smoother airflow and better performance. I’ve seen dyno results showing gains of 20 hp and 20 tq on a stock setup, which is impressive for such a straightforward upgrade.
In terms of specs, this intercooler flows 1176 CFM at 3.25 inches, which translates to about 705 hp based on flow. Now, inlet and outlet restrictions will cap that around 600 hp, but even at that, you’re getting a surface area that can support around 450 hp at about 50 mph. That’s some serious power potential if you ask me.
