If you're looking to crank up the performance on your Mazda RX-7, this Standard Single and Twin Turbo kit is where it's at. We’re talking about some serious upgrades here, featuring 2.5" mandrel-bent steel piping that runs from the turbo all the way to the throttle body elbow. If you’ve got a Greddy elbow on the throttle body side, you’ll want to snag our 3" Greddy Elbow Pipe for the driver side. And if you’re running a single turbo setup with a Greddy elbow, you can upgrade both the long pipes to 3" for even better flow. But don’t sweat it—the short pipes connecting to the intercooler stay at 2.5".
Thinking about switching from twin turbos to a single? You’ll need to grab our Single Turbo upgrade pipe from the piping section and a 2.5" 90-degree silicone elbow. It’s a straightforward swap that can really change the game.
We’ve put this kit through its paces on our shop car (that yellow FD you see in the pics). When we first built it, we had an Apexi FMIC kit, and while it gave decent results, charge air temps were creeping up to the 140-150°F range. That’s when we started hearing some detonation in the higher gears, which is never a good sign. The small core and wide tanks were pushing coolant temps over 210°F, all while we were tuned for pump gas at 21psi (10.5 AFR and 10 degrees of timing). Switching to this kit dropped our charge air temps down to around 110°F, with the highest we’ve seen being 122°F. That drop allowed us to run 23psi on pump gas without any knock. Plus, coolant temps leveled out between 185-195°F, never exceeding 200°F. And we did all this with a stock bumper! We’ve even had customers with body kits reporting even better temperature management.
For a T66 turbo running at 20psi, you can expect charge air temps between 95-110°F and coolant temps around 180-185°F. The ETS intercooler kit fills the stock bumper opening perfectly, and if you're running a body kit, it just looks killer. It's got an ultra-wide 30" tank-to-tank dimension that outshines other kits on the market.
So, if you’re ready to take your RX-7 to the next level, this is the kit you need. It’s built to perform and designed with the real-world driver in mind.
