  • Securely position the brake pads in the caliper for proper installation.
  • Check your brake fluid and flush or replace it as necessary.
  • Inspect all hydraulic components for any signs of wear and tear.
  • Examine the rotor for deep grooves or scoring; resurface or replace if needed.
  • If resurfacing isn’t required, remove any contamination from previous pads by sanding the rotors with 130-grit sandpaper. Clean with soap and water afterward to ensure they're free of oil, grease, and brake fluid.
  • Finally, inspect calipers for freedom of movement and lubricate as needed.
