Engineered Fitment

We've put a lot of thought into the design of Morimoto's A-Pillar kit for the 2016-2022 Toyota Tacoma. After countless rounds of design, prototyping, and testing directly on the truck, we ensured perfect compatibility. Everything lines up with existing mounting points, making installation a breeze?no modifications required! We know this is a basic expectation, but you wouldn?t believe the poor fitment we saw from other brands during our development. It was quite the eye-opener!

Branches Beware

Each bracket is crafted from laser-cut 304 stainless steel, then electroplated and powder-coated. Simply put, the side mirrors on your Tacoma will give way long before our A-Pillar kit shows any signs of wear.

All Weather

Our white-output version is perfect for all-around visibility. If you often find yourself driving in rain, snow, or fog, the yellow-output version is designed to excel in those tricky conditions. Morimoto has chosen Phosphor-Converted Yellow LEDs that produce yellow light right from the source, which is the best way to cut through the elements without sacrificing performance. Filtering white light through a yellow lens might look nice, but it doesn?t do much for visibility in bad weather.

Reliability

With great power comes great responsibility, and we?ve taken that to heart. We?ve put in extensive effort to ensure the reliability of our product. High power means high heat, which is why the 4Banger features a copper DTP (direct thermal path) PCB that maximizes heat transfer to the radiator. This has been fine-tuned through numerous rounds of thermal analysis. The cast aluminum shell is electroplated before powder coating to prevent flaking. Plus, the potted internals, over-molded input wiring, and main gasket are designed according to IP69K standards for full weather resistance.

Wiring and Cable Management

No messy wiring here! We?ve included several mounting locations and cable routing clips on the bracket stem to keep your LED pod wiring neat as it travels down into the engine bay. From there, you can easily plug in Morimoto's switched relay wire harness for a clean and reliable installation.

Performance

Every aspect of the patent-pending 4Banger LED pod light is uniquely designed. We utilized LucidShape to optimize performance around the latest, lumen-dense LEDs from Nichia and Osram. Our optics are produced to world-class standards, and thermal dynamics have been fine-tuned using SolidWorks. The 4Banger is available in three industry-leading beam patterns to meet all your needs: Wide/Fog, Spot, and Combo.

HXB Combo Beam

This beam illuminates a clear path with medium range, blending width and distance for a comfortable driving experience. The 8H x 4V oval hot spot with a 10V degree spread at the beam center is perfectly tuned to create an ideal flood beam, making the 4Banger HXB Combo an excellent companion to any high-performance headlights.

HXB Spot Beam

Need to see far into the distance? The HXB Spot does just that! Equipped with the most powerful Osram LEDs, this beam pattern can reach up to 800 meters ahead. No matter your speed, you?ll always have a clear view with the 4Banger HXB Spots.

HXB Wide Beam

This beam focuses on illuminating the ground right in front of your vehicle. The HXB Optics offer dual-axis control for width and hot spot intensity, projecting peak brightness right along the top of the beam pattern. The vertical gradient mimics an SAE-Compliant fog light pattern but with added intensity, thanks to the Osram HX Boost LEDs. The 4Banger HXB Wide beam is the ultimate off-road LED fog light.

NCS Combo Beam

Similar to the HXB Combo, this beam provides a wonderful mix of width and distance, enhancing your comfort while driving in remote areas. The 8H x 4V oval hot spot with a 10V degree spread is perfectly tuned for an ideal flood beam, making it a great addition to your high-performance headlights.

NCS Spot Beam

This beam shines well into the distance with a focused 5-degree hot spot surrounded by a 14H x 4C degree flood beam. It's your perfect ally for long-range visibility. While it may not be as powerful as the 4Banger HXB Spot, pairing it with NCS Combos will help you avoid any surprises on the road.

NCS Wide Beam

This beam lights up the ground right in front of your vehicle and is a fantastic complement to high-performance Morimoto headlights. It delivers an expansive beam that significantly improves visibility to the sides of the road. With superior vertical gradient control, glare to oncoming traffic is minimized. When properly aimed, both the NCS and HXB Wide Beam models meet the latest SAE F regulation for street-legal fog lights. You can find those test reports in the compatibility section.

Power Up

The Morimoto 4Banger LED Pods are designed from the ground up to set a new benchmark in their category, and the same goes for the optional wire harness. If you?re after the best, you?ve found it! Every component of the harness has been carefully considered, with no corners cut. It features a triple-sealed proprietary 4-pin relay with a hanger, an over-molded inline fuse holder with a 20A mini fuse, DT06-2S female outputs with dual seals, stainless steel power and ground terminals, and a proprietary M-Spec push button switch with an amber LED backlight.

Compatibility

While our A-Pillar brackets pair perfectly with the 4Banger LED pods, they?re also compatible with LED pods from other well-known brands like Baja Designs, KC Hi-Lites, Rigid Industries, and Diode Dynamics.

Street Legality

When aimed correctly, the Spot and Combo beams comply with SAE J581 standards for auxiliary high beams, while the Wide beam model meets SAE J583 standards for fog lamps. Keep in mind that some localities require auxiliary lights to be covered during everyday driving. To comply, our optional Blackout Covers fit all Morimoto 4Banger LED Pods easily and can be removed in seconds.
