PCI Race Radios FIA 8856-2000 Alpinestars Tech-M Gloves
$169.99

If you’re in the pit crew game, you know how crucial it is to have gear that can keep up with the chaos. The Alpinestars Tech-M Gloves are something I’ve come to rely on during those high-pressure moments. Born out of the World Endurance Championship, these gloves are not just built for show; they’re designed to perform. The flame-resistant aramidic fiber construction gives you peace of mind, while the strategically placed impact-absorbing foam and silicone grip zones make every movement feel natural and secure.

What I really appreciate about these gloves is their lightweight feel. You won’t find any unnecessary bulk here, which is a blessing when you’re swapping out wheels in a hurry. The elasticated wrist and wide opening make them a breeze to slip on and off, even when you’re racing against the clock. Seriously, you can get them on and off in a flash, which is a game-changer during pit stops.

Now, let’s talk about fit. To find your size, just wrap a measuring tape around your hand behind the knuckles (excluding the thumb) and keep it snug. Measure both hands and go with the larger one—trust me, it’s worth it to get the right fit.

  • Built for the Pit: These gloves are crafted specifically for the demands of pit crews.
  • Safety First: The bonded flame-resistant aramid fiber offers top-notch performance, comfort, and safety.
  • Impact Protection: You’ll find silicone FR-coated patches with foam inserts on the knuckles and fingers, which really helps absorb shock.
  • Durability: The reinforced aramid fiber on the thumb and second finger is a real lifesaver for abrasion resistance.

And let’s not forget the features that set these gloves apart:

  • They comply with the FIA 8856-2000 homologation standard, so you know they meet strict safety requirements.
  • The textured Goat Nappa inserts on the palm enhance grip and shock absorption, especially when you’re using a wheel gun.
  • Pre-curved fingers and palm design mean less material bunching and a better fit when you’re handling controls.
  • The 180-degree elasticated wrist ensures a snug fit, and there’s a silicone tab to help you yank them off when you need to.
  • Plus, the fully embroidered graphic adds a touch of style that’s built to last.

So if you’re serious about your pit crew game, the Alpinestars Tech-M Gloves are a solid investment. They combine safety, comfort, and functionality in a way that makes you feel ready for anything the track throws your way.

What is PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios has been the leader in off-road and racing communications since 1972. The company takes pride in its extensive field testing, competitive prices, unparalleled customer service, and simplified packages that make communications easy with unmatched support even after the sale. With more than 45 years of experience in the off-road racing industry, PCI Race Radios develops and tests all of its own products. The brand has a full-service technical repair shop at its headquarters in Long Beach, California, and provides trackside, mobile services to its desert enthusiasts at off-road races. PCI Race Radios supports the ASA, CORVA, ORBA, and the San Diego Off-Road Coalition. It also sponsors District 37, SCORE, SNORE, MDR, MORE, CORR, BITD, and provides desert racers with the Weatherman Relay Service.

PCI Race Radios is a family-owned company that is dedicated to taking the time to both “race and play.” The company tests its products on dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads, rock crawlers, race cars, Raptors, RZRs, Mavericks, and boats. It can, therefore, thoroughly understand consumers’ needs and offer hands-on recommendations from experience.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
