If you're in the pit crew game, you know how crucial it is to have gear that can keep up with the hustle. The Alpinestars Radar Racing Shoe is built for just that—it's fully FIA homologated, so you can trust it to meet the standards you need while you're working under pressure. This isn't just a shoe; it's a tool designed for those long days in the garage and the fast-paced environment of pit stops.
Let’s talk about what makes these kicks stand out. The main upper is crafted from leather, reinforced with bycast carbon leather around the heel and toe. This combo gives you the durability and protection you really need when you're darting around the car. Plus, the dual closure system—featuring a hook and loop strap alongside traditional laces—lets you dial in the fit just how you like it. No more worrying about your shoes slipping off when you’re in the thick of it.
When it comes to comfort, the Radar shoe doesn’t hold back. The collar is cut lower in the back, which means you get better movement and less restriction around your Achilles. That’s a game-changer when you’re kneeling or making quick moves during a pit stop. And the ankle support? It’s designed to keep you comfortable and stable, so you can focus on the task at hand instead of your feet.
Now, let’s not forget about safety. The fireproof Nomex fabric wraps your feet in protection while still being breathable. The strategically placed perforated zones help keep your feet cool, which is essential when you’re working hard. And with Alpinestars' exclusive rubber compound sole, you get a grip that you can rely on—whether you're on the track or just moving around the garage.
Here’s a quick rundown of the specs:
In short, if you’re serious about your pit crew work, the Alpinestars Radar Racing Shoe is a solid choice. It’s built to last, designed for performance, and made to keep you comfortable while you do what you do best. Grab a pair and see the difference for yourself.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.
Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
