If you're serious about racing, you know that every detail matters—especially when it comes to comfort and safety. That’s where this Alpinestars Race V3 Balaclava steps in. It’s designed to keep you cool and comfortable without weighing you down. Seriously, it’s so lightweight and soft that you might forget you’re even wearing it. The Anthracite Grey/Melange color looks sleek, too, which is always a plus when you’re behind the wheel.
What really sets this balaclava apart is its construction. It’s made with Alpinestars’ flame-resistant technology, which incorporates elastane fibers. This means you get a snug fit that moves with you, making it perfect for those long hours in the driver’s seat. Plus, it meets the new homologation standards, so you can race with confidence knowing you’re compliant.
Now, let’s talk about the features. The flat seams are a game-changer; they reduce pressure points, so you’re not constantly adjusting your gear mid-race. There’s also a handy mouth opening for your hydration tube, which is essential when you’re pushing your limits out there on the track. And don’t overlook the Lenzing FR material—it’s a natural viscose fiber that offers impressive thermal insulation and flame resistance, helping to keep you cool and safe even in the heat of competition.
In short, if you want a balaclava that’s built for performance and comfort, this one’s a solid choice. It’s not just gear; it’s a piece of your racing setup that can make a difference when it counts.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.
Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
