If you're into UTV riding, you’ve probably heard of the HJC i10 helmet. I’ve had my hands on one for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s quickly become my go-to. The first thing you'll notice is how lightweight it feels—just 4.05 lbs. It’s like wearing nothing at all, which is a huge plus when you’re out tearing up the trails for hours on end.
Comfort is key, right? The interior is plush, thanks to the Nylex cheek pads and liner that you can actually remove and toss in the wash. After a long day of riding, it’s nice to freshen things up instead of dealing with that funky helmet smell. Plus, the fit is snug without being too tight, which is a balance that’s hard to find.
Now, if you’re like me and enjoy the thrill of a good ride, you’ll appreciate the advanced polycarbonate composite shell. It’s DOT approved for recreational use, so you know you’re getting a solid piece of gear. Just keep in mind, it’s not meant for racing. But hey, for weekend adventures or just cruising around, it’s perfect.
One of my favorite features has to be the 95% UV protection shield. The quick, tool-less removal and installation is a game changer. When you’re out in the sun, you want to protect your eyes without fumbling around trying to swap out visors. And if you’re looking to take it up a notch, you can get it custom wired by the pros at PCI. They use top-notch components and even offer a RaceAir modification for fresh air inside your helmet. It’s a nice touch that keeps you cool, especially on those hot days.
All in all, the HJC i10 is a solid helmet that combines comfort, safety, and functionality. Whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been riding for years, this helmet is worth considering. It’s got the features you need without all the fluff.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.
Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
