If you're out there tearing up the trails in your UTV, the HJC i10 helmet is a solid choice that won’t let you down. I’ve put this helmet through its paces, and I can tell you it’s comfy enough for those long rides and lightweight enough that you hardly notice it's on your head. Plus, the interior is removable, which makes cleaning a breeze after a muddy adventure.

What really sets this helmet apart is the custom wiring done by the pros at PCI. They use high-quality components to ensure you get crystal clear audio while you’re out there. With the RaceAir modification, you can even get fresh air flowing into your helmet, which is a game changer on those hot days.

Now, let’s talk specs for a second. The HJC i10 comes with a PCI Trax wiring system that uses a gray 5-pin connector, perfect for hooking up to Trax stereo intercom systems. It’s DOT approved, so it's great for all your recreational rides, though keep in mind it’s not meant for racing. The helmet is built with an advanced polycarbonate composite shell, so it’s tough enough to handle the bumps and scrapes that come with off-roading.

Comfort is key, and the plush Nylex cheek pads and liner are both removable and washable, which is a huge plus after a day of dust and sweat. The shield offers 95% UV protection and can be removed or installed without any tools, making it super convenient when you need to swap it out. Oh, and if you want to add a little extra protection from the elements, there’s Velcro installed for a helmet skirt, but you’ll need to grab that separately.

Weighing in at just 4.05 lbs when wired with Race Air, this helmet is light enough for all-day wear without sacrificing safety or comfort. If you’re serious about your UTV rides, the HJC i10 is definitely worth considering.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
