Weighing in at just 4.05 lbs, it’s light enough that you won’t even notice it after a while, but it’s built tough with an advanced polycarbonate composite shell that can take a beating. Plus, the removable interior means you can keep it fresh and clean, which is a must after a few muddy adventures.

One of the standout features is the custom wiring by PCI. They use high-quality components to hook you up with a gray 5-pin connector that works seamlessly with Trax stereo intercom systems. You’ll get a complete setup that includes a microphone and some seriously powerful speakers that pump out quality sound. And if you’re like me and hate feeling stifled in your helmet, the RaceAir modification is a game-changer. It has channeled air vents that keep the airflow going, so you can ride comfortably without feeling like you’re suffocating.

Safety is key, and this helmet is DOT approved, which makes it great for recreational use—just keep in mind it’s not meant for racing. The shield offers 95% UV protection, and the quick, tool-less removal and installation make it easy to swap out when you need to. Oh, and if you want to add a little extra flair, it’s got Velcro installed for a helmet skirt (which you’ll have to grab separately).

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
