What sets this helmet apart? For starters, it’s SNELL SA 2020 certified, which means it meets some of the toughest safety standards out there. The shell is crafted from a composite tri-weave material, which is both lightweight and incredibly durable thanks to the vacuum bagging and autoclave curing process. Weighing in at just 4.20 lbs when wired with Race Air, you won’t even notice it’s there during those long races.

Now, let’s talk about the tech. This helmet comes pre-wired with PCI Custom Wired features, including large, high-watt speakers and an H2NO water-resistant pigtail and ear jack. You can even upgrade to a Gentex Noise Cancelling Microphone if you want to block out all that engine noise while still being able to communicate clearly with your crew. Plus, it’s ready for the Pyrotect Side Forced Air system, which is a game-changer on hot days.

One thing I really appreciate is the unique 6-pad interior system. It’s designed for an awesome fit, helps with heat transfer, and is super easy to clean after a day at the track. And if you’re looking to add a little extra comfort, there’s an optional hydration system upgrade that can keep you refreshed during those grueling races.

Oh, and if you're into intercom systems, you can wire it for Trax Stereo with just a $25 upgrade. Plus, all SA2015 and SA2020 helmets come with a 6mm back plate pre-installed, making it a breeze to attach head and neck restraint hardware. If you decide to get that hardware, just let us know, and we’ll install it for you at no extra charge.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
