If you're looking to take your off-road adventures to the next level, the Trax Plus Intercom is a game changer. This system isn’t just about chatting with your buddies; it's about creating a seamless experience while you’re out there tearing up the trails. Imagine cruising along, blasting your favorite tunes, and effortlessly chatting with your passengers—all without having to shout over the engine noise. The Trax Plus makes that a reality.

One of the standout features here is the Bluetooth with Volume Control. You can easily manage your music right from the main knob. Whether you want to pause, skip tracks, or answer a call, it's all at your fingertips. No fumbling around, just pure convenience. And if you’ve upgraded your ride with a new exhaust or a roaring V8, you’ll want to consider the Digital Signal Processing (DSP). This nifty feature cuts out all that background noise, letting your voice shine through. A simple press of a button and you can switch between enjoying the quiet and cranking up the sound of your engine.

Communication with other vehicles is just as easy. With the included Push to Talk (PTT) button, you can reach out to your crew without missing a beat. The system automatically adjusts the music volume when you receive a transmission, so you won’t have to worry about missing important messages while jamming out.

What’s in the box? You’ll get the Trax Plus Stereo Intercom with Bluetooth, a choice between the Icom F5021 Mobile Radio or Kenwood NX-1700 Radio, plus all the necessary cables and mounts. The setup is straightforward, but if you need a little guidance, we’ve got you covered with installation instructions available online.

  • Trax Intercom: 2.6A draw (5amp fuse recommended)
  • Kenwood NX-1700 Radio: 50w @ 13.8v, 260 channels, 13A draw upon transmit (15amp fuse recommended), IP54 Rated
  • Trax Headset: 150ohm Low Gain Microphone and 300ohm 50mm High Fidelity Speakers
  • Trax Helmet Wiring Kit: 150ohm Low Gain Microphone and 32ohm 36mm High Fidelity Speakers
  • Trax G2 Headset: 150ohm Low Gain Microphone and 180ohm High Fidelity Speakers
  • Warranty: 5 years on the intercom, 2 years on radios and cables

Just a heads up: if you're using elite 4 conductor headsets, they won’t connect to the 5 conductor Trax Stereo Cables without an adapter. Even with the adapter, you’ll still be stuck with mono sound.

Ready to elevate your ride? Check out the installation guides here and here.

What is PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios has been the leader in off-road and racing communications since 1972. The company takes pride in its extensive field testing, competitive prices, unparalleled customer service, and simplified packages that make communications easy with unmatched support even after the sale. With more than 45 years of experience in the off-road racing industry, PCI Race Radios develops and tests all of its own products. The brand has a full-service technical repair shop at its headquarters in Long Beach, California, and provides trackside, mobile services to its desert enthusiasts at off-road races. PCI Race Radios supports the ASA, CORVA, ORBA, and the San Diego Off-Road Coalition. It also sponsors District 37, SCORE, SNORE, MDR, MORE, CORR, BITD, and provides desert racers with the Weatherman Relay Service.

PCI Race Radios is a family-owned company that is dedicated to taking the time to both “race and play.” The company tests its products on dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads, rock crawlers, race cars, Raptors, RZRs, Mavericks, and boats. It can, therefore, thoroughly understand consumers’ needs and offer hands-on recommendations from experience.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
