Let’s talk features. First off, it’s got a slick silver finish that not only looks good but also stands up to the elements. You’ll get a bracket, a protective bonnet, and a replaceable filter right out of the box. Just a heads up, though—hoses are sold separately, so make sure to grab those if you need them.

One of the coolest things about this blower is the two outlet ducting hose connections. You can set it up however you need, and if you want to mount it upside down, just swap the bonnet for a pre-filter. Why? Because the bonnet might catch water or debris, and we don’t want that messing with your airflow.

The housing is made from tough, reinforced plastic that’s water-resistant, so you don’t have to stress about it giving up on you mid-race. Plus, the universal flex mount bracket lets you position the outlet in any direction you want, making installation a breeze.

Wiring it up is straightforward, too. The power cable is not polarity sensitive; just connect one of the two black wires to power and the other to ground. It draws 4.6 amps at 12 volts and weighs in at about 5 lbs (2.3 kg), so it’s not going to weigh you down.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
