Hey there, fellow off-roaders! If you're looking to step up your communication game while tearing up the trails, let me tell you about the PCI Rocker Intercom System with the Kenwood NX-1700 Radio. This setup is the real deal for those of us who love to chat with our passengers or keep in touch with the crew while we’re out there having a blast.

First off, the Rocker Intercom is designed to make conversations smooth and easy. You can talk to your buddies without shouting over the engine noise or blasting music. Just start talking, and it automatically lowers the music volume so you can be heard. Once you’re done, the tunes kick back up—no awkward silences here!

Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty. This package includes everything you need to get rolling, including a basic U-shaped mounting bracket for the radio. I highly recommend the Kenwood NX-1700 Mobile Radio for its solid RF noise filtering. This feature is a game-changer, especially for UTVs like the CanAm or RZR Turbo S, which often have dual stators. Plus, it’s power-efficient—transmitting at full strength without draining your battery, which is perfect if you’ve got a lot of accessories hogging power.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Stay in touch with your passengers while enjoying your favorite tracks.
  • Add a two-way radio for group communications—essential for those big rides.
  • Super easy installation—just pop it into a standard rocker switch panel slot!
  • Mount the base unit discreetly behind the dash, in the glovebox, or under a seat.
  • Bluetooth capability comes standard, so you can control your music and take calls seamlessly.
  • Want to chat with other vehicles? Just hit the Push to Talk (PTT) button and you’re good to go.
  • Worried about missing important radio calls? The music volume adjusts automatically when you receive a transmission.
  • The intercom draws 2.6A (5amp fuse recommended), and the Kenwood radio draws 14A when transmitting (15amp fuse recommended).
  • Comes with a 3 ft. USB-C lead for charging or connecting devices.
  • 5-year warranty on the intercom and 2-year on the radios and cables—so you know you’re covered.

What’s in the box? You’ll get:

  • Trax Stereo PCI Rocker Intercom
  • Kenwood NX-1700 Mobile Radio
  • Two 12ft Elite Intercom Cables
  • Panel Mount PTT and Velcro Mount PTT
  • Phone Audio Input Cable (for Standard and DSP units)
  • 17ft Hole Mount Coax
  • Stealth No Ground Plane Antenna

Ready to dive into the install? You can find all the instructions here and a quick reference guide for the Kenwood Radio here.

So, if you’re ready to enhance your off-road experience with some serious communication upgrades, this PCI setup is worth checking out. Trust me, you won’t regret it!

What is PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios has been the leader in off-road and racing communications since 1972. The company takes pride in its extensive field testing, competitive prices, unparalleled customer service, and simplified packages that make communications easy with unmatched support even after the sale. With more than 45 years of experience in the off-road racing industry, PCI Race Radios develops and tests all of its own products. The brand has a full-service technical repair shop at its headquarters in Long Beach, California, and provides trackside, mobile services to its desert enthusiasts at off-road races. PCI Race Radios supports the ASA, CORVA, ORBA, and the San Diego Off-Road Coalition. It also sponsors District 37, SCORE, SNORE, MDR, MORE, CORR, BITD, and provides desert racers with the Weatherman Relay Service.

PCI Race Radios is a family-owned company that is dedicated to taking the time to both “race and play.” The company tests its products on dirt bikes, motorcycles, quads, rock crawlers, race cars, Raptors, RZRs, Mavericks, and boats. It can, therefore, thoroughly understand consumers’ needs and offer hands-on recommendations from experience.

Who is Behind PCI Race Radios?

PCI Race Radios was started in 1972 when Bob Steinberger put communications in the vehicles of Bill Stroppe, Joe MacPherson and Walker Evans. At the 1974 Mint 400, Steinberger sent up three weather balloons with 500 feet of coax attached to them. It was that day when the first successful radio relay from a pit was made. Since then, Bob’s iconic status has spanned through nearly half a century of work with his communications brand, PCI Race Radios.

Bob Steinberger passed away in 2017, handing over the company to his son Scott, who has been racing since 1983. Scott Steinberger understands what goes into racing and the importance of quality (communication) products that help get you to the finish line.
