Permatex Anaerobic Gasket Maker 50ml - 51813
Permatex Anaerobic Gasket Maker is a noncorrosive gasketing material designed primarily for use on aluminum, iron, and steel flanged mating surfaces. Ideal for on-the-spot and emergency repairs, or when a conventional gasket is unavailable. Fills gaps up to .015? and cures to a solvent-resistant seal that will not tear or decay during service. Parts disassemble easily even after extended service.

For use on machined aluminum metal components; transmission pans, transmission case covers, transaxle casings, transfer cases, split crankcases, pumps, and housings.

To Make a Gasket:
  • Clean both flange surfaces. Remove paint, dirt, grease or old gasket completely.
  • Spray Permatex Surface Prep activator on one surface only. Allow to dry 1-2 minutes.
  • Apply a continuous bead of sealant to the unprimed surface.
  • Assemble mating surfaces with minimal lateral movement. Excess sealant can be wiped away with a cloth and shop solvent.
To Dress a Gasket:
  • Clean both flange surfaces. Remove paint, dirt, grease or old gasket completely.
  • Spray Permatex Surface Prep activator to both flange surfaces. Allow to dry 1-2 minutes.
  • Completely cover both sides of the precut gasket with sealant.
  • Place coated gasket on flange, and assemble mating surfaces with minimal lateral movement.
