In traditional coolant systems, air needs to be present in the top part of the radiator during colder temperatures to accommodate heat expansion. The Radium Coolant Expansion Tank changes that game by allowing your radiator to be completely filled with coolant, no matter the conditions. With a capacity of 750mL, this tank is both practical and efficient.
Quality Design and Construction
Crafted from CNC billet 6061 aluminum, the Radium Coolant Expansion Tank features a two-piece design that is bolted together for durability. It includes a CNC billet aluminum radiator neck that fits a standard 32mm "Mini" style pressure cap with a Type-A seal. This ensures a snug fit and reliable performance.
Unique Internal Features
One of the standout features of this coolant tank is its two internal chambers, which are interconnected through crossover passages at both the top and bottom. This design is crucial because it allows the tank to be part of the pressurized coolant system, rather than just serving as a coolant overflow tank.
Additionally, the tank is equipped with an internal swirl feature. Hot pressurized coolant enters the vortex chamber tangentially, creating a high rate of rotation that helps to deaerate the system effectively.
Threaded Ports for Easy Installation
- Side (Inlet): 6AN ORB (9/16" - 18)
- Bottom: 10AN ORB (7/8" - 14)
The tank comes with three O-ring boss ports for a secure seal. It includes -6AN male adapter fittings (not tapered pipe threads), and the lower ports feature 10AN ORB threads. If you're looking for additional adapter fittings, you can find them here. The side port is also machined with 6AN ORB threads, with more adapter options available here. To make installation even easier, three -6AN female 90-degree hose ends are included, made from lightweight black anodized aluminum for use with push-lok style 3/8" ID hose.
