Many vehicles with saddle-style fuel tanks, particularly those with RWD or AWD drivetrains, come equipped with OEM jet pumps that are tailored for factory fuel pump flow rates. However, when you upgrade to a higher-flow pump, these factory jet pumps can create significant restrictions in the return line, leading to increased fuel pressure. While some might consider drilling out the OEM jet pump to alleviate this pressure, that can compromise its functionality. Important Installation Tips
- Remember: When installing, remove the OEM venturi jet pump! The system won't function correctly if it's trying to push fuel through the restrictive OEM design.
- A hose (not included) should be connected to the 8.5mm jet pump outlet barb. Make sure the end of this hose is submerged in fuel at a low point in the tank. This prevents the vacuum created by the jet pump from inadvertently pulling air into the system. Alternatively, you can use a duckbill valve (18-0026) directly on the jet pump outlet barb for added convenience.
