Front Sla Suspension System For 1979-1993 Mustang W/ Stock K-Member For Use W/ Coil-Overs Or Shockwaves Sold Separately Tubular Lower Arms Billet Upper Arms Frame Mounts Spindles Hubs And Steering Arm.

This bolt-in SLA (Short-Long-Arm) suspension system replaces the stock MacPherson strut design with a billet aluminum upper control arm, tubular lower arm and spindles with S550/S650 Mustang hubs.

The factory strut design offers very little camber gain and poor overall geometry.

This design greatly improves negative camber gain, which positions the tire perpendicular to the pavement through the corners without the need for excessive static camber and overly stiff spring rates. Caster, roll center and Ackerman angles were also optimized.

Compatible with either Ridetech Coil-overs or Shockwave air suspension (sold separately).

Features
  • Replaces OE MacPherson suspension with superior double-wishbone design for improved handling and geometry
  • Incorporates an upper control arm to induce much needed negative camber gain.
  • Caster, roll center, bumpsteer and Ackerman angles are optimized.
  • Bolt-in frame surrounds create attachment points for the upper control arms and the shocks, this keeps the load on the frame rails for maximum strength and reduced NVH.
  • Upper and lower arms feature Delrin bushings infused with Teflon to minimize stiction and eliminate the need for lubrication.
  • Spindles includes Moog S550 Mustang rear hubs for maximum strength, consistent braking and reduced maintenance.
  • Lower control arm design improves tire clearance and steering angle, 30 degree,s with up to a 275mm wide tire.
Fitment
  • Fit's many Aftermarket K-Members including Maximum Motorsports, Team Z, AJE & UPR.
  • Uses S550/S650 (15-23) or SN95 (94-04) Mustang brake systems. (Caliper brackets sold separately.)
  • 17 inch minimum wheel diameter.
  • Compatible with stock and most aftermarket sway bars.
  • Perfect pairing with our Ridetech Rear IRS Conversion (replaces live rear axle)

Specifications
  • Negative Camber Gain - 1.25 deg./in.
  • Positive Caster - 7-9 deg.
  • Bump steer - under .050 inch (Optimized with Maximum Motorsport and Team Z k-members)
  • Lowers Ride Height - inch
  • 50lbs lighter than stock suspension
  • Stock track width

Technology

RideTech greatly improves the ride quality and handling performance of your late model muscle car. Choose coil-over suspension, air suspension or monotube shock absorber upgrades. RideTech’s engineering team starts from the ground up with impact forged aluminum shock absorbers bodies that are vastly superior, with respect to quality, to anything offered from the factory. As such, RideTech offers an unbeatable 1,000,001 mile warranty. Like high-end exotics and race cars, RideTech shocks are monotubes. The design provides precision rebound and compression control as well as enhanced reliability.

Coil-overs are popular upgrades for Mustangs Camaros and LX muscle. A Coilover is simply a shock surrounded by a coil spring; it places the shock and coil in one linear unit. A Coilover is a simple solution for most suspension designs, but can often be difficult to understand what you need. Fortunately, RideTech has your back with 21 years of suspension development.

Choosing a coil-over begins with two important decisions. The first is choosing the function of your vehicle. If you are building a performance car, then you will want a coil-over that has an adjustable shock. This allows the driver to tweak the “stiffness” of the suspension with a twist of a knob located on the shock. This adjustment knob controls the shock valving which controls the damping of the coil-over. This is a huge benefit for drivers who want to fine-tune their performance for the track, autocross, or the road.

The second most important decision in choosing a coil-over is finding your desired spring rate for the coil spring. Spring rate is the force required to compress a spring 1″ and is an important factor in how comfortable your car rides and your ride height. RideTech has worked out ideal spring rates for your vehicle and intended driving style.
