ASM Technology Explained
The ASM technology is a critical feature of the SR 14102 harness. It includes an additional flap of material sewn into the inboard shoulder belt, which serves to prevent the occupant from sliding beneath the lap belt during a collision. In traditional 4-point harnesses, both shoulder straps work in tandem to restrain the upper body, which can inadvertently lift the lap belt and allow the pelvis to slide underneath. The unique design of the ASM system ensures that one shoulder strap elongates at a different rate, effectively keeping the pelvis secured against the seat cushion, thereby reducing the risk of serious injury.
