Swift Springs 100-188-140B3: The Ultimate Upgrade for Your Race Car

If you're serious about performance and handling, the Swift Springs 100-188-140B3 is a game-changer for your ride. Designed with the American racer in mind, these springs are engineered for everything from oval track racing to drag racing and off-road adventures. With extensive testing in world-class racing circuits across Europe and Asia, Swift has fine-tuned these springs to deliver results that American racers can trust.

Why Choose Swift Springs?

Many car owners swap springs with the expectation of a stiffer or softer ride, but what if you could transform your vehicle’s dynamics entirely? The Swift Springs 100-188-140B3 is designed to enhance traction, provide smoother weight transfer, improve ride quality, and maintain lower tire temperatures. This means a more predictable feel on the track, ensuring you get the most out of every lap.

Construction and Design

Manufactured from H5S.TW, a premium material that outperforms typical silicone chrome steel, these springs are crafted to be more responsive while minimizing unsprung weight. The barrel design, featured in most Swift springs 10 inches and longer (excluding drag racing and conventional springs), addresses common issues like spring deflection. This design not only ensures consistent spring rates but also prevents rubbing against the shock body, which can lead to damage over time.

Technical Specifications

  • Spring Rate: 140 lbs/inch
  • Usable Stroke: 5.9 inches
  • Max Stroke: 7.2 inches
  • Max Load: 1009 lbs

Why was Swift Springs Formed?

Swift Springs was founded in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan as a motorsports division of Tokyo Hatsujo Manufacturing Co, Ltd., which has been leading the spring industry since 1924. Swift Springs was established to demonstrate their superior engineering by developing the next generation of sport suspension coilover springs. The scope of the project was to surpass the best of any other brand or design in the market by making the springs ultra-durable and lightweight, while still being affordable.

World-Class Racing Experience

Since its inception, Swift Springs has been led by former racer and suspension expert Kei Yokota and the chief engineer Yasu Saito. Their first-hand experience and involvement within the race industry have propelled Swift Springs through the ranks of the world’s most prestigious races. Swift quickly became the most recognized and respected name in performance coil springs in motorsports all around the globe.

The brand’s impressive motor racing history started in 1998 with a Nissan Skyline GT-R in the Super Taikyu Endurance championship series in Japan. Swift Springs moved on to support championship teams in the 24 Hours Nurburgring, 24 Hours of Le Mans, D-1 World Grand Prix, F3, Formula Toyota, the Super Taikyu series, and many other world-class races. In 2004, Team Goh’s Audi R8 won first place with Swift Springs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

All Springs are not Created Equal

All coilover spring manufacturers claim to have four factors: lightest in weight, largest amount of stroke, most consistent spring rate, and highest durability against loss of spring height. Only the innovative and revolutionary Swift Springs achieve the fifth factor which is having the fastest reaction speed possible to gain compliance on road surface conditions. While diameters and spring rates may be similar across several brands, the spring manufacturing process is what determines exactly how well they will perform. To achieve all five factors, Swift Springs developed a proprietary steel alloy "HS5.TW", as well as a patented winding method that no other coilover manufacturer can duplicate.

Swift Springs provide drivers with a difference that they can feel and several racing benefits. Swift Springs use a very strong alloy, which means they can use a thinner diameter of wire. In turn, the thinner wire is much lighter and extremely vital given it is unsprung weight. Thinner wire also means that there is more gap between the coils with more “stroke” for the spring. This gives the spring more travel and does not “bottom” as early as thicker wire springs. Lastly, Swift Springs prove to be incredibly consistent and reliable. At the end of one year of racing, Swift Springs are typically within .5-1.0 percent of the rate they were when they just came out of the box.
