If you're into racing in the U.S., you probably know we have one of the largest racing communities in the world. After putting our springs through the wringer on tracks across Europe and Asia, we’re confident they’ll hold their own here at home. Swift has crafted these standard measurement race springs specifically for American racing styles—think oval track, drag racing, and off-road adventures.
We really dug into what American racers need, gathering insights from the pros who are crushing it in their fields. The result? A spring design that’s a bit different from the metric coilover springs you might be used to. Instead of just swapping springs around and feeling only minor differences in stiffness, imagine a spring that actually boosts your traction, smooths out weight transfer, and gives you a more predictable ride. That’s what we set out to achieve, and our engineers have made it happen.
All our Swift Springs are made from H5S.TW. material, which is a step up from the usual silicone chrome steel. This allows us to create a much more responsive spring with fewer coils. Why does that matter? Less un-sprung weight means better handling, and an increased stroke gives you more flexibility on the track.
For most of our springs that are 10 inches or longer (with a few exceptions for drag racing and conventional springs), we use a barrel design. This isn’t just for looks; it helps tackle the common issue of spring deflection. When springs bow, it can lead to inconsistent rates and potential damage to your shock. Some manufacturers might add more coils to combat bowing, but that can backfire by reducing spring stroke and adding weight where you don’t want it.
We’ve designed our barrel springs with a maximum outer diameter of 4 inches (with exceptions for the B5 and B3 series). This uniformity means less hassle when you're trying to fit the right spring in tight spaces. No more guessing games about whether a heavier rate spring will fit without interfering with your suspension components.

Swift Springs was founded in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan as a motorsports division of Tokyo Hatsujo Manufacturing Co, Ltd., which has been leading the spring industry since 1924. Swift Springs was established to demonstrate their superior engineering by developing the next generation of sport suspension coilover springs. The scope of the project was to surpass the best of any other brand or design in the market by making the springs ultra-durable and lightweight, while still being affordable.
World-Class Racing ExperienceSince its inception, Swift Springs has been led by former racer and suspension expert Kei Yokota and the chief engineer Yasu Saito. Their first-hand experience and involvement within the race industry have propelled Swift Springs through the ranks of the world’s most prestigious races. Swift quickly became the most recognized and respected name in performance coil springs in motorsports all around the globe.
The brand’s impressive motor racing history started in 1998 with a Nissan Skyline GT-R in the Super Taikyu Endurance championship series in Japan. Swift Springs moved on to support championship teams in the 24 Hours Nurburgring, 24 Hours of Le Mans, D-1 World Grand Prix, F3, Formula Toyota, the Super Taikyu series, and many other world-class races. In 2004, Team Goh’s Audi R8 won first place with Swift Springs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
All Springs are not Created EqualAll coilover spring manufacturers claim to have four factors: lightest in weight, largest amount of stroke, most consistent spring rate, and highest durability against loss of spring height. Only the innovative and revolutionary Swift Springs achieve the fifth factor which is having the fastest reaction speed possible to gain compliance on road surface conditions. While diameters and spring rates may be similar across several brands, the spring manufacturing process is what determines exactly how well they will perform. To achieve all five factors, Swift Springs developed a proprietary steel alloy "HS5.TW", as well as a patented winding method that no other coilover manufacturer can duplicate.
Swift Springs provide drivers with a difference that they can feel and several racing benefits. Swift Springs use a very strong alloy, which means they can use a thinner diameter of wire. In turn, the thinner wire is much lighter and extremely vital given it is unsprung weight. Thinner wire also means that there is more gap between the coils with more “stroke” for the spring. This gives the spring more travel and does not “bottom” as early as thicker wire springs. Lastly, Swift Springs prove to be incredibly consistent and reliable. At the end of one year of racing, Swift Springs are typically within .5-1.0 percent of the rate they were when they just came out of the box.
