Swift Springs 1.88" Standard Coilover Spring 10" Length 280 lbs/in Universal Fit
$89.25

If you're diving into the world of racing, you probably know that the U.S. is a powerhouse when it comes to motorsports. Having spent time testing in some of the most competitive racing environments across Europe and Asia, we’re pretty confident that our gear can hold its own here. That’s where Swift springs come into play. These aren’t just any springs; they’re specifically designed with American racing in mind—think oval tracks, drag racing, and off-road adventures.

We’ve really listened to what the top racers need. The standard measurement springs we’ve crafted are based on real feedback from those who live and breathe racing. They differ slightly from our metric coilover springs, but that’s a good thing. Many folks out there swap springs around, often just feeling a change in stiffness. But what if you could have a spring that actually boosts your traction, smooths out weight transfer, enhances ride quality, lowers tire temps, and gives you a more predictable feel? That’s exactly what our engineers have achieved with these springs.

All of our Swift Springs are made from H5S.TW. material, which is a step above the typical silicone chrome steel you find elsewhere. This allows us to create a more responsive spring with fewer coils. The result? Less un-sprung weight and increased stroke, which is crucial for performance.

Most of our springs that are 10 inches or longer—excluding the drag racing and conventional springs—feature a barrel design. This is a game-changer for tackling spring deflection (or bowing) issues. When springs bow, you end up with inconsistent spring rates and potential damage to your shock body. Some brands think adding more coils is the answer, but that just leads to a heavier setup and can mess with your overall suspension dynamics.

What sets our barrel springs apart is their thoughtful design. We’ve kept the outer diameter to a maximum of 4 inches (with a couple of exceptions in the B5 and B3 series). This consistency means you won’t have to worry about different diameters causing fitment headaches, especially when you’re working with tight clearances. A stiffer spring shouldn’t interfere with your suspension components, and we’ve made sure of that.

Features:

  • Spring Rate: 280 lbs/inch
  • Usable Stroke: 5.4 Inch
  • Max Stroke: 6.1 Inch
  • Max Load: 1704 lbs

So, if you’re looking for a reliable spring that’s been crafted with real-world racing experience, the 100-188-280B3 Swift Springs are worth checking out. With a length of 10 inches and a solid spring rate, they’re ready to take your setup to the next level.

Why was Swift Springs Formed?

Swift Springs was founded in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan as a motorsports division of Tokyo Hatsujo Manufacturing Co, Ltd., which has been leading the spring industry since 1924. Swift Springs was established to demonstrate their superior engineering by developing the next generation of sport suspension coilover springs. The scope of the project was to surpass the best of any other brand or design in the market by making the springs ultra-durable and lightweight, while still being affordable.

World-Class Racing Experience

Since its inception, Swift Springs has been led by former racer and suspension expert Kei Yokota and the chief engineer Yasu Saito. Their first-hand experience and involvement within the race industry have propelled Swift Springs through the ranks of the world’s most prestigious races. Swift quickly became the most recognized and respected name in performance coil springs in motorsports all around the globe.

The brand’s impressive motor racing history started in 1998 with a Nissan Skyline GT-R in the Super Taikyu Endurance championship series in Japan. Swift Springs moved on to support championship teams in the 24 Hours Nurburgring, 24 Hours of Le Mans, D-1 World Grand Prix, F3, Formula Toyota, the Super Taikyu series, and many other world-class races. In 2004, Team Goh’s Audi R8 won first place with Swift Springs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

All Springs are not Created Equal

All coilover spring manufacturers claim to have four factors: lightest in weight, largest amount of stroke, most consistent spring rate, and highest durability against loss of spring height. Only the innovative and revolutionary Swift Springs achieve the fifth factor which is having the fastest reaction speed possible to gain compliance on road surface conditions. While diameters and spring rates may be similar across several brands, the spring manufacturing process is what determines exactly how well they will perform. To achieve all five factors, Swift Springs developed a proprietary steel alloy "HS5.TW", as well as a patented winding method that no other coilover manufacturer can duplicate.

Swift Springs provide drivers with a difference that they can feel and several racing benefits. Swift Springs use a very strong alloy, which means they can use a thinner diameter of wire. In turn, the thinner wire is much lighter and extremely vital given it is unsprung weight. Thinner wire also means that there is more gap between the coils with more “stroke” for the spring. This gives the spring more travel and does not “bottom” as early as thicker wire springs. Lastly, Swift Springs prove to be incredibly consistent and reliable. At the end of one year of racing, Swift Springs are typically within .5-1.0 percent of the rate they were when they just came out of the box.
