So, if you're into racing—especially here in the U.S.—you probably know we take our motorsports pretty seriously. With a racing scene this vibrant, I’ve seen firsthand the kind of gear that can make or break your performance. That’s where Swift Springs come into play. After putting these springs through the wringer in some intense racing environments across Europe and Asia, I can confidently say they’re designed to meet the unique demands of American racers, whether you’re hitting the oval track, dragging down the strip, or tearing it up off-road.

These springs aren’t just another set of coils. Swift has really nailed it by crafting a standard measurement spring that’s built on real data from top-level racers. You know how some folks swap springs and only notice a slight change in stiffness? Well, that’s not the case here. Swift has taken it a step further. Imagine a spring that not only gives you a noticeable boost in traction but also smooths out weight transfer, enhances ride quality, keeps your tires cooler, and gives you that predictable feel you crave. That’s the magic of these springs.

What sets them apart? They’re made from H5S.TW. material, which is a game-changer compared to the usual silicone chrome steel. This allows for a more responsive spring design with fewer coils, which means less un-sprung weight and better stroke. It’s all about getting that sweet spot where performance meets comfort.

Here’s the nitty-gritty:

  • Spring Rate: 200 lbs/inch
  • Usable Stroke: 3.7 inches
  • Max Stroke: 4.1 inches
  • Max Load: 820 lbs

Fitment: These springs are universal, so they can fit a variety of setups. If you’re serious about racing and want to elevate your ride, these Swift Springs are definitely worth a look.

Why was Swift Springs Formed?

Swift Springs was founded in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan as a motorsports division of Tokyo Hatsujo Manufacturing Co, Ltd., which has been leading the spring industry since 1924. Swift Springs was established to demonstrate their superior engineering by developing the next generation of sport suspension coilover springs. The scope of the project was to surpass the best of any other brand or design in the market by making the springs ultra-durable and lightweight, while still being affordable.

World-Class Racing Experience

Since its inception, Swift Springs has been led by former racer and suspension expert Kei Yokota and the chief engineer Yasu Saito. Their first-hand experience and involvement within the race industry have propelled Swift Springs through the ranks of the world’s most prestigious races. Swift quickly became the most recognized and respected name in performance coil springs in motorsports all around the globe.

The brand’s impressive motor racing history started in 1998 with a Nissan Skyline GT-R in the Super Taikyu Endurance championship series in Japan. Swift Springs moved on to support championship teams in the 24 Hours Nurburgring, 24 Hours of Le Mans, D-1 World Grand Prix, F3, Formula Toyota, the Super Taikyu series, and many other world-class races. In 2004, Team Goh’s Audi R8 won first place with Swift Springs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

All Springs are not Created Equal

All coilover spring manufacturers claim to have four factors: lightest in weight, largest amount of stroke, most consistent spring rate, and highest durability against loss of spring height. Only the innovative and revolutionary Swift Springs achieve the fifth factor which is having the fastest reaction speed possible to gain compliance on road surface conditions. While diameters and spring rates may be similar across several brands, the spring manufacturing process is what determines exactly how well they will perform. To achieve all five factors, Swift Springs developed a proprietary steel alloy "HS5.TW", as well as a patented winding method that no other coilover manufacturer can duplicate.

Swift Springs provide drivers with a difference that they can feel and several racing benefits. Swift Springs use a very strong alloy, which means they can use a thinner diameter of wire. In turn, the thinner wire is much lighter and extremely vital given it is unsprung weight. Thinner wire also means that there is more gap between the coils with more “stroke” for the spring. This gives the spring more travel and does not “bottom” as early as thicker wire springs. Lastly, Swift Springs prove to be incredibly consistent and reliable. At the end of one year of racing, Swift Springs are typically within .5-1.0 percent of the rate they were when they just came out of the box.
