Swift Springs Metric Coilover Spring 65MM ID 2.56-Inch 6-Inch Length 279 lbs/Inch
$101.15

If you're diving into the performance tuning scene, you've probably heard of Swift Springs. They've been around for over 90 years, and it shows in the quality of their products. These guys know springs inside and out, and their experience really shines through in their designs. I’ve used their springs on my own ride, and let me tell you, they’ve nailed it with a setup that balances lightness, durability, and compliance all while keeping those linear spring rates in check.

Now, a lot of folks swap springs around and often just end up feeling a stiffer or softer ride. But Swift took a step back and asked, "What if we could do more?" They’ve turned that idea into something tangible. With these springs, you’re not just getting a different feel; you’re looking at enhanced traction, smoother weight transfer, and improved ride quality. Plus, they help keep those tire temps down and give you a more predictable driving experience. It’s a game changer.

What sets these springs apart is the material they use. They’re crafted from H5S.TW., which is a step above the typical silicone chrome steel. This means they can wind the springs with fewer coils, which cuts down on unsprung weight and gives you more stroke. That’s a win-win for anyone who enjoys pushing their car to the limits.

Swift also understands that the metric system is the go-to in the sport compact and road racing world. So, they’ve rolled out a metric line of coilover springs to make life easier for all of us who are tuning our rides. You’ll find a variety of sizes in their lineup, with inner diameters from 60mm (2.25") to 70mm (2.75"), spring lengths ranging from 127mm (5") to 280mm (11"), and spring rates that go from a comfy 3kg (168lbs) up to a hefty 34kg (1900lbs). Whether you're just cruising to work or setting up your car for a track day, they’ve got you covered.

Here are some specs to chew on:

  • Spring Rate: 279 lbs/inch
  • Usable Stroke: 3.7"
  • Max Stroke: 4.1"
  • Max Load: 1159 lbs

Fitment:

  • Universal

Just a heads up:

  • You might need more than one for your vehicle.

So if you’re looking to upgrade your ride with something that’s been thoughtfully designed and put through the wringer by real enthusiasts, check out the Z65-152-050 Swift Springs Metric Coilover Spring. With an ID of 65MM (2.56-Inch) and a length of 6-Inch, you’ll be getting a solid 279 lbs/inch spring rate that’ll elevate your driving experience.

Why was Swift Springs Formed?

Swift Springs was founded in 1997 in Tokyo, Japan as a motorsports division of Tokyo Hatsujo Manufacturing Co, Ltd., which has been leading the spring industry since 1924. Swift Springs was established to demonstrate their superior engineering by developing the next generation of sport suspension coilover springs. The scope of the project was to surpass the best of any other brand or design in the market by making the springs ultra-durable and lightweight, while still being affordable.

World-Class Racing Experience

Since its inception, Swift Springs has been led by former racer and suspension expert Kei Yokota and the chief engineer Yasu Saito. Their first-hand experience and involvement within the race industry have propelled Swift Springs through the ranks of the world’s most prestigious races. Swift quickly became the most recognized and respected name in performance coil springs in motorsports all around the globe.

The brand’s impressive motor racing history started in 1998 with a Nissan Skyline GT-R in the Super Taikyu Endurance championship series in Japan. Swift Springs moved on to support championship teams in the 24 Hours Nurburgring, 24 Hours of Le Mans, D-1 World Grand Prix, F3, Formula Toyota, the Super Taikyu series, and many other world-class races. In 2004, Team Goh’s Audi R8 won first place with Swift Springs at the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.

All Springs are not Created Equal

All coilover spring manufacturers claim to have four factors: lightest in weight, largest amount of stroke, most consistent spring rate, and highest durability against loss of spring height. Only the innovative and revolutionary Swift Springs achieve the fifth factor which is having the fastest reaction speed possible to gain compliance on road surface conditions. While diameters and spring rates may be similar across several brands, the spring manufacturing process is what determines exactly how well they will perform. To achieve all five factors, Swift Springs developed a proprietary steel alloy "HS5.TW", as well as a patented winding method that no other coilover manufacturer can duplicate.

Swift Springs provide drivers with a difference that they can feel and several racing benefits. Swift Springs use a very strong alloy, which means they can use a thinner diameter of wire. In turn, the thinner wire is much lighter and extremely vital given it is unsprung weight. Thinner wire also means that there is more gap between the coils with more “stroke” for the spring. This gives the spring more travel and does not “bottom” as early as thicker wire springs. Lastly, Swift Springs prove to be incredibly consistent and reliable. At the end of one year of racing, Swift Springs are typically within .5-1.0 percent of the rate they were when they just came out of the box.
