Founded in 2008, Takeda is a division of aFe (Advanced FLOW Engineering) that manufactures high-performance products, like intakes and exhausts, for a wide array of makes and models. aFe leads the automotive aftermarket world when it comes to filtration, air intake, and exhaust systems, as well as other bolt-on performance parts for everything from BMWs to Dodge Diesels. Based in Southern California with strong ties to the Japanese tuning scene, Takeda designs its products for the progressive petrolhead that is performance-driven.
All Takeda products are developed and manufactured in a state-of-the-art facility by highly experienced and skilled airflow engineers. The team uses digital measuring, rapid prototyping, and real-world dyno testing to ensure optimal performance and guarantee the original factory fit and function. Each Takeda intake is built using polished aluminum tubes and sports an anodized maintenance-free clear coat. Takeda filters are flow bench tested to the highest standards and all intake pipes are computer modeled for maximum efficiency before testing on the dynamometer.
Takeda is dedicated to delivering quality products that boast style and performance benefits to the premium automotive enthusiast. To showcase its comprehensive product lineup, Takeda has videos on each and every one of its intakes/exhausts so that consumers can see the product in action because purchasing and installing it.
Takeda’s stainless steel catback exhaust systems deliver increased exhaust flow and, consequently, more horsepower and torque. The Takeda team spends countless hours testing each exhaust system to ensure it produces maximum power gains with an incredible exhaust tone to boot. What’s more, the system has been designed to use a vehicle’s factory hanger locations and comes with everything needed for a hassle-free installation.
Takeda currently offers three variants of air intake systems: Attack, a cold air intake series; Retain, a short ram intake series; and Link, a combination short ram and cold air intake that can be converted to either style within minutes. Each individual Takeda air intake kit includes a filter that uses aFe’s Pro Dry S technology. Pro Dry S Filters spotlight an oil-free element with deep pleats and superior filtration and airflow. It is regarded among the best filtering elements on the market, keeping out 99.4% of solid particles while optimizing airflow.
Each system features aFe’s dry fabric filter technology, which allows the filters to be cleaned with just soap and water. Takeda air intakes have been proven, time and time again, to provide noticeable gains in horsepower, torque, and fuel economy, making them a top choice among car enthusiasts looking for a performance upgrade.
