Alright, gearheads, let’s talk about the Texas Speed & Performance resleeved short-block. This isn’t just any block; it’s built from a brand-new Gen 4 aluminum block, and you’ve got options with Power Bore or Darton dry sleeves. What does that mean for you? Well, these sleeves are thicker and way stronger than the stock GM sleeves. So if you’re planning to push the limits, this block is ready to take the heat.
When you order, you’ll get a fully-assembled short-block featuring a 3.622” stroke crankshaft. You can pick between a 24x or 58x reluctor wheel, depending on what you’re running. We’ve got the machining down to a science here, so you can count on a solid build right out of the gate. Just a heads up, if you’re thinking about adding some serious power, we wouldn’t recommend going over a 4.125” bore size.
Now, let’s talk pistons. You can choose between Wiseco or CP Pistons, and they come in sizes from 3.903” to 4.185”. All these pistons are 2618 forgings, designed with lowered ring lands, making them perfect for nitrous or boosted applications. If you’re looking to go big, both the 3.622” and 4.00” stroke options are your best bet for adding power.
We’ve got a range of connecting rods and crankshafts to fit whatever setup you’re dreaming of. Plus, every engine comes with the necessary oil and coolant plugs already installed, so you can dive right into your build. If you’re dropping this into an LS1 vehicle, we offer a conversion package that includes an LS2 timing cover, valley cover, lifter trays, and everything else you need to get it in there without a hitch.
Oh, and if you’re serious about running nitrous or boost, consider upgrading to the 1/2” head studs. This upgrade includes ARP hardware and the machine work needed to fit it. The PRC aftermarket casting cylinder heads already come with larger bolt holes, so you’re good to go.
We also throw in 12 quarts of break-in oil at no extra charge because we know how crucial it is to get that initial startup right. This isn’t just any oil; it’s got the right additives to ensure proper ring sealing. After the break-in, we recommend switching to Driven Racing oil, specifically the HR2 conventional non-synthetic, to keep your engine running smoothly.
If you’ve got any questions or want to bounce around some ideas for your build, don’t hesitate to give us a call. We’re here to help you get the most out of your engine setup!
