If you’re looking to unleash some serious power under the hood, the Texas Speed & Performance 376 C.I.D. short-block is a solid choice. This isn’t just any engine; it’s built on a brand-new GM L92/LS3 aluminum block, which means it’s lightweight yet incredibly robust. Right out of the box, you’ll get a fully assembled short-block featuring a factory GM 3.622" stroke crankshaft. You can also choose between a 24X or a 58X reluctor wheel, depending on what suits your setup best.
Now, let’s talk about pistons. You’ve got options here—Wiseco, CP, or Diamond Racing pistons. The Wiseco and CP options are designed to fit LS1, LS2, LS6, L92, LS3, and most aftermarket cylinder heads. For those using Diamond pistons, they’ll work well with LS1, LS2, LS6, and L92 cylinder heads. It’s nice to have that flexibility, especially if you’re looking to tailor your engine to your specific needs.
Every TSP 376 L92/LS3 comes with a 4.070" bore piston set as standard, but if you’re dreaming of something a bit more custom, we’ve got you covered. We offer a variety of connecting rods and crankshafts, so you can really dial in your engine for whatever application you have in mind. Each engine comes with the necessary oil and coolant plugs already installed, which is a nice touch that saves you time during installation.
If you’re planning on pushing the limits with nitrous or boost, consider upgrading to the 1/2" head studs. This upgrade includes ARP hardware and the necessary machining work, but keep in mind you’ll need to select a set of PRC aftermarket casting cylinder heads for this to work. Those heads already have the larger bolt holes to accommodate the 1/2" studs, so no extra machining is needed. Just something to keep in mind when you’re making your selections.
We also include 12 quarts of break-in oil at no extra cost. Seriously, this stuff is crucial for the health of your engine. Proper break-in oil helps seal the rings against the cylinder walls when you first fire it up, which is critical for a smooth operation down the line. Most off-the-shelf oils don’t have the right additives, so we make sure you’re set up for success from the start. Once you’re done breaking it in, we recommend switching to Driven Racing oil, specifically the HR2 conventional non-synthetic, to keep everything running smoothly.
