Texas Speed & Performance 427 C.I.D. LSx Short Block

If you’re looking to seriously up your engine game, the Texas Speed & Performance 427 C.I.D. LSx short block might just be what you need. These bad boys come with a fresh GM Performance Parts LSx iron block, and they’re built to handle some serious power.

What’s in the box? You’ll get a fully assembled short block featuring a 4.00" stroke crankshaft. You can choose between a 24X or 58X reluctor wheel, depending on your setup. And let’s talk pistons: you can pick from Wiseco, Diamond Racing, or Mahle—each one is a 2618 forging with lowered ring lands, making them perfect for those who want to run nitrous or boost. Just keep in mind that for the 427 LSx, we’re talking a bore size of either 4.125" or 4.127".

Custom builds? Absolutely! We’ve got a range of connecting rods and crankshafts to fit whatever you’re dreaming up. Plus, every engine comes with the essential oil and coolant plugs already installed, so you’re not left scrambling for those little bits. If you’re dropping this engine into an LS1 vehicle, you might want to consider our optional conversion package. It includes the LS2 timing cover with camshaft position sensor, lifter trays, and all the necessary plug-and-play harness extensions.

For those who are going all out, there’s an option for a long-snout dry-sump crankshaft, which is a must if you’re putting this in a 2006+ Corvette Z06, Grand Sport, or ZR1. Just a heads-up: if you're going dry-sump, the block won’t have a spot for an oil dipstick tube, so you’ll need to plug that hole. We can hook you up with a dipstick tube plug if you need one.

When it comes to clamping down those cylinder heads, the GMPP LSx block has got your back. If you’re planning on pushing the limits—think 400+ shots of nitrous or 25+ psi of boost—you might want to consider our optional 1/2-inch head studs for extra clamping force. And if you’re in a hurry, we offer an expedite service to get your engine built and shipped in as little as five business days, depending on parts availability.

Oh, and let’s not forget the break-in oil. We include 12 quarts of it at no extra charge because starting off right is crucial. Most off-the-shelf oils don’t have the ZDDP additives needed for a proper break-in, so we make sure you have what you need to get those rings sealing properly.
