If you’re looking to beef up your ride with a solid short-block, check out the Texas Speed & Performance resleeved short-blocks. We’re talking about a brand-new Gen 4 aluminum block that’s been fitted with Darton dry sleeves. These sleeves are tough—way tougher than the stock GM ones. They’re thicker too, which means you can really push your engine without worrying about it falling apart on you.
When you order, you’ll get a fully-assembled short-block that comes with your choice of a 4.10" or 4.125" stroke crankshaft. You can also pick between a 24x or 58x reluctor wheel, depending on what you need. We’ve machined and assembled everything right here in-house, so you know you’re getting quality. Just a heads-up though: if you’re planning to add any serious power, we recommend sticking to a maximum bore size of 4.125".
Now, let’s talk pistons. You can choose from Wiseco pistons in a variety of sizes, ranging from 4.005" to 4.185". All of these are 2618 forgings and come with lowered ring lands, perfect for nitrous or boost setups. If you’re thinking of running a power-adder, we suggest going with a 4.00" stroke engine. This setup gives you a thicker piston crown, which is better for handling the stress of extra power. For those who want to push the limits, we also offer an upgrade to 1/2" head studs, which includes ARP hardware and necessary machine work. Just make sure your PRC aftermarket cylinder heads are ready for those larger bolt holes.
Every engine comes with 12 quarts of break-in oil at no extra cost. Seriously, break-in oil is crucial for sealing those rings against the cylinder walls right from the start. Most standard oils don’t have the additives needed for a proper break-in, so we’ve got you covered there. Once you’re past the break-in period, we recommend using Driven Racing oil—specifically the HR2 conventional non-synthetic, for the best results.
We can also help with the LS2 conversion package if you’re dropping this into an LS1 vehicle. It includes everything you need, like the timing cover and harness extensions. Just give us a shout, and we’ll put together an itemized estimate for you.
