If you're looking to add some serious muscle to your ride without turning it into a total beast that’s impossible to handle, the TSP 6.2L L86 Stage 1 Camshaft is where it’s at. This camshaft is designed for those of us who want a solid boost in horsepower while keeping things smooth enough for daily driving. You’ll definitely notice that nice lope at idle, but it won’t be so aggressive that it makes you dread stoplights.
One thing to keep in mind is that this camshaft doesn’t play nice with the factory AFM/DOD setup, which means you’ll need a DOD/AFM delete kit to get everything running smoothly. And while you’re at it, it’s a good idea to lock out the VVT using a phaser lockout kit—this is a must for all TSP LT camshafts to ensure everything works as it should.
What’s great about the TSP camshafts is that they’re not just thrown together. Each one is designed and tested on a SuperFlow 902 engine dyno using a stock 6.2L engine. The team goes through a bunch of different cam profiles before settling on the ones they offer, which means you’re getting a camshaft that’s not just about power but also about reliability. They’ve made sure there won’t be any pesky piston-to-valve clearance issues, so you can install it with confidence.

- Best suited for: L86 6.2L engines
- Compression ratio: Stock is ideal
- Springs needed: Manton conical valve springs or TSP dual .660 spring kit
- Stall converter: Factory converter friendly, no aftermarket stall needed!
- Rear gear: No upgrades necessary
- Operating RPM range: 2400-6600
- Power gains: Expect an increase of about 66hp and 8ft/lbs, bringing your total to 552HP/532TQ
- Drivability: Excellent with just a hint of lope at idle!
- Phaser lockout: Required
