Rev Up Your Gen 5 L83 & L86 with Our Heads and Cam Package

If you’re looking to squeeze every bit of power out of your 5.3L L83 or 6.2L L86, you’ve come to the right place. This heads and cam package is designed for those who want to take their engine to the next level without the fluff. We’re talking serious upgrades that really make a difference.

First off, this package includes porting of your existing cylinder heads. Yep, you’ll need to send those heads our way for some serious TLC—porting, milling, and assembly. We’re not just slapping parts together here; our camshafts are crafted using a SuperFlow 902 engine dyno, and we’ve tested them on a stock 6.2L LT1. That means we’ve tried and tested various designs to ensure you get the best power curve without compromising on performance or safety. No piston-to-valve clearance issues here!

Our PRC ported cylinder heads are developed by some of the best in the business. We’ve put these through the wringer to guarantee that you’re getting a proven heads/cam package. With the right mods, you can expect gains of over 100 HP—now that’s what I call a solid upgrade!

Now, about the camshaft: the biggest one we recommend for a factory torque converter is the 25-TSPLT1VVT-SV. It has a duration of 222/230 @ .050", which keeps things street-friendly while still delivering the power you crave. If you go for a bigger cam, just know it might affect how your ride feels on the road unless you swap in an aftermarket torque converter. All our truck cams keep that stock-like idle quality while still giving you plenty of low-end and mid-range power—perfect for towing or just cruising around.

One of the cool features of the Gen 5 L83 and L86 is the Variable Valve Timing (VVT). It’s controlled by a cam phaser that adjusts the timing based on engine RPM. While this tech is great for efficiency, it can complicate things when you’re designing performance cams. Luckily, we’ve got the tools and expertise to create camshafts and phaser tuning tables that give you the ultimate in performance without headaches.

Important Notes:

• There’s a known issue with factory GM LT cylinder head castings where valve seats can fall out. This can lead to serious engine damage, so we highly recommend our aftermarket LTx cylinder heads instead of using factory ones.
• This package requires a DOD delete kit (#25-LT1DODDEL-KIT) since our camshafts don’t work with the factory DOD/AFM system.
• For competition use only—this isn’t street legal.
