One of the coolest updates in this version is the redesigned lobes. They’ve managed to dial back the lift while still squeezing out more power than its predecessor. This means it’s easier on your valve springs, and you’ll notice a significant drop in valvetrain noise. So, if you’re tired of that annoying racket, this camshaft might just be your ticket to a quieter ride.
Now, let’s talk performance. When tested, this bad boy pumped out an impressive 69 horsepower and 24 ft/lbs of torque at the crank. That’s a solid bump for anyone looking to add some serious kick to their truck or SUV. And if you like a bit of attitude in your idle, you’ll appreciate the noticeable chop that comes with it.
Just a heads-up: this camshaft does require an aftermarket torque converter, ideally in the 2600-2800 stall range. Also, it doesn’t play nice with the factory AFM/DOD system, so you’ll need a DOD/AFM delete kit to get everything running smoothly. If you’re planning to install it, a TSP dual .660 spring kit is recommended to keep things in check.
