This isn’t just any engine; it’s built on a solid GM LQ9 6.0L iron block, which means you’re starting with a robust foundation. When you grab one of these, you’ll get a fully-assembled short-block that features a factory GM 3.622" stroke crankshaft. You can choose between a 24X or 58X reluctor wheel, depending on what fits your setup best.
Now, onto the pistons. We’ve got Wiseco pistons that are tailored to fit LS1, LS2, LS6, L92, LS3, and most aftermarket cylinder heads. If you’re leaning towards Diamond pistons, they’ll work with LS1, LS2, and LS6 heads. CP Pistons? They’ll handle LS1, LS2, LS6, L92, and LS3 heads like a champ. Most piston sets come with a 4.03" bore unless you specify otherwise. And if you want to get a bit creative, we have custom build options available too.
When it comes to crankshafts, we’ve got you covered with Callies and Lunati options, as well as connecting rods from Callies, Lunati, and Oliver. Plus, every engine comes with the necessary oil and coolant plugs already installed, so you can hit the ground running.
If you’re planning to push your engine hard with nitrous or boost, consider upgrading to 1/2" head studs. This upgrade includes ARP hardware and the necessary machine work. And if you’re using PRC aftermarket casting cylinder heads, they already have the larger bolt holes ready to go.
For those of you wondering about fitment, this Gen III block is compatible with all the necessary LS1 covers, gaskets, and components, but it does use LS2/LS3 cylinder head bolts. It’s a straightforward swap for many popular models.

One last thing—every TSP engine comes with 12 quarts of break-in oil at no extra cost. Seriously, this stuff is crucial. Proper break-in oil is key for ring sealing against the cylinder walls when you first fire it up. Most off-the-shelf oils lack the necessary ZDDP additives for a new engine’s break-in, so we want to make sure you’re set up for success. After the break-in, we recommend using Driven Racing oil, specifically the HR2 conventional non-synthetic.
