Girodisc A1-260 Front Rotors for Mercedes-Benz G63

The Girodisc A1-260 is engineered as a direct replacement for the factory brake discs on the Mercedes-Benz G63, offering a significant upgrade in performance without the need for extensive modifications. This system includes caliper spacers and longer bolts to accommodate the larger 410mm rotor size, ensuring a straightforward installation process.

Construction and Design

Each rotor features a central hat section crafted from U.S.-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum. The disc itself is composed of Girodisc's proprietary cast iron, which is poured and machined entirely in-house in the USA. This meticulous manufacturing process ensures high quality and durability.

Cooling Technology

The A1-260 utilizes a sophisticated cooling design with 48 curved directional vanes. These vanes are engineered to function as a centrifugal pump, effectively channeling cooling air through the disc during operation, which enhances performance and reduces brake fade.

Floating Mount System

The rotor and hat employ a floating mount system, utilizing either 8 or 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, specifically manufactured by Girodisc to exacting standards and cadmium plated for superior corrosion resistance. This design allows for axial and radial float between the hat and disc, ensuring optimal performance under braking loads.

Noise Reduction Features

To prevent noise during cold operation, the drive pins are equipped with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side. This feature allows for thermal expansion while eliminating the rattling commonly associated with floating rotors. Additionally, this system enables the rotor to self-center between the brake pads, enhancing braking consistency.

Maintenance and Replacement

Once installed, the Girodisc A1-260 system allows for easy replacement of the cast iron rotor when necessary, making maintenance straightforward and efficient. The rotors are sold in pairs, ensuring you have everything needed for a complete upgrade.

Purchaser acknowledges the Product is for off-road racing use only. The nature of off road racing involves significant risk, and the conditions under which the Product is used and types of use of the Product are many depending on factors such as installation and use. Due to the inherent risk of the activity in which the Product is used, the Purchaser understands and agrees the Seller provides a limited warranty for the Product, specifically, the warranty is limited to the following specification: less than .0015” runout and less than .0003”disc thickness variation.

If Purchaser provides Seller with written notice of any condition inconsistent with the specification set forth above on or before six (6) months from the date of delivery and complies with the return requirements set forth in Section 6, then Seller will, at its election either:
  • Provide a replacement Product, or
  • Refund the purchase price.
This limited warranty does not cover, and Seller will not pay for, or provide, labor or materials that which may be necessary to remove a Product or install a replacement Product. This warranty is limited to the exchange of the Product or return of the purchase price.
